Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese system of medicine involving the stimulation of certain specific points on the body by the insertion of very fine needles into the skin.
According to Chinese medicine the needles could stimulate the flow of vital energy (Chi) along special pathways called meridians. In the unhealthy body the flow of energy can’t low or becomes blocked.

Acupuncture brings actual physical changes in the body. It helps to release the production of hormones calls endorphins and monoamines they well known as a painkillers and relaxants in the body. That is why acupuncture works for people wanting to give up smoking and other addictions.

      Acupuncture against smoking

Giving up smoking is a very topical question nowadays. Many people think about it, but don’t know how to start, where to go. Who could help? It is well known that smoking leads to many diseases, including chronic bronchitis, lung cancer, stomach ulcers, arteriosclerosis. Acupuncture is the most effective way of giving up smoking. It avoids the withdrawal syndrome, eliminates the desire for cigarettes and also treats the problems associated with smoking: neurosis, headaches, chronic lung disease, sleeping problems. During acupuncture sessions fine needles are inserted into particular points of the ear and body. The anti-smoking program starts to have an effect on the relevant brain area. The desire to smoke usually disappears after 2 to 3 sessions. To maintain the effects of the antismoking program it is recommended repeating 2-3 sessions over the first 3 months. Alcohol is not allowed during and for two weeks after treatment

      Skin disease treatment

Many skin problems, such as acne, eczema, psoriasis and alopecia, do not always respond to treatment by traditional medicine. Holistic or alternative medicine, however, may be the answer, because this approach takes full account of a patients medical history and the emotions, which often play a significant part in the onset and development of these conditions. A holistic practitioner looks at the patient as a whole and doesn’t think purely in terms of a cream or ointment or tablets. He looks at diet and lifestyle and devises a programme of treatment tailored to the individual. He thinks of the ways in which acupuncture and homeopathy can be brought to bear on the problem.

Alternative medicine, such as homeopathy and acupuncture, is probably the only type of treatment which does not simply suppress the symptoms but treats them and eradicates the condition completely.
